Pros and Cons of Rituals
There are pros and cons of performing rituals. Rituals can be very powerful and can produce some unexpected results. Rituals are designed to focus your attention, spiritual energies, and spiritual receptiveness upon certain aspects. But on the con side, If you perform a ritual and do not determine the correct focus you wish it to take, you may miss the important message or understanding your desire. It is also possible for a ritual to produce negative consequences due to specifically and narrowly focusing on things that miss the target . Likewise, if you are too broad and completely open, one may receive unintentional information that will cloud the issue.
So, by directly focusing, you can quickly learn or gain insight, but by focusing too finely, you may miss the broader significance of the ritual. The trick is to focus correctly for the situation. This comes through experience and training.
Rituals as a Tool to Develop Ability to Interpret Dreams
Rituals are a spiritual development tool that can result in refining and improving your ability to interpret dreams. But what if you have no desire to follow or learn about rituals, then you can still learn and obtain the desired information through other means, such as using the other spiritual development tools that target the fifth chakra energy.
Rituals Can Connect You with the Past
Rituals do add a broadening of experience that those who wish not to engage in rituals will miss. The experience of being able to perform those rites that the ancients first used to teach themselves about nature, life, mother earth, fire, wind, sun, moon, seasons, etc. is something that will be missed by not engaging in rituals. Rituals also can allow a type of bonding with the past, but in a manner that is effective and relevant for the present.
Personalize the Ritual
Once you understand a rituals purposes and meanings, then you should modify or compliment them to maximize their benefit to you personally. A ritual is simply a motion of the body or an expenditure of physical energy and time. Unless the spirit, and the mental, and the physical all work together to produce a spiritual experience, the mark will be missed.
Also, if the experience is not pleasant or spiritual, then perhaps you can modify it to become such or that your desires for rituals are not as deep as you first felt. In any case, it is again important that you feel completely free and comfortable with the subject. Don’t try to force something that does not provide positive results.
The purpose of a ritual is to produce conscious mental images and to instill spiritual feelings within the soul. The actual physical act of the ritual is not as important as the results.
The power of a ritual is the power that the mind generates by being part of the ritual. The ritual can indeed be a tool for the mind to become awakened.
