This question allows your mind to pause and re-channel and direct your thoughts in a new direction. The question re-channels your thought process towards sensing.
Each of us has feelings. They are part of the nervous system and a physical mechanism that communicates with our brain. Feelings are triggered in almost any situation and help us react and respond as needed. Our spiritual self often communicates to our physical self via feelings.
Chill Up the Spine or Goosies
Most everyone has experienced a chill go up his or her spine or goosies when an experience moves you. This experience is the voice of your spiritual self-communicating to your physical self. This can happen when a person is spiritually moved by something her or she has heard, or seen, tasted, smelled, or touched.
For example, when you heard something wonderful and extra-ordinary that spoke to your soul, you may have felt that chill up your spine. Or perhaps you saw something of intense beauty, like a sunset, or the ocean, or the mountain peaks, and your soul was touched and you were deeply moved. These were moments when your soul was communicating a message to you. Perhaps the message was, "this is wonderful!," OR "notice this! Or "I am here!” These moments were when your soul, or spiritual self, was communicating with you through a spiritual burst of energy to help you pause and pay attention. Your physical self paused, paid attention, and then was recognized this as an event of importance.
Paying Attention to How You Feel
As you start to pay attention to your feelings, you start to differentiate the feelings that come from your spiritual self versus the feelings that are common and every day kind of feelings. As you develop and improve your sensing skill of recognizing feelings, you learn to interpret subtleties and differences in your feelings and those quiet whispers of communication.
Paying Attention to the Subtle Communication Already Part of Your Life
Your spiritual self can and does communicate with you all the time. Your spiritual self uses feelings as a communication mechanism. Learning to be aware of your feelings and interpreting the message is probably one of the most important lesson to learn as you expand your spiritual development. Feelings are something everyone has. Interpreting feelings is something everyone can learn.
