Usually the first way a person recalls an astral travel experience is through a dream. Another method is through a meditation. Some experiences are recalled with certain feelings. For example, you may have had a dream where you were flying, weightless, or were elevated. This is a common dream image of an astral travel experience. Sometimes you may have awakened with a feeling of being “slippery” and this is also common sensation for having been on the astral plane.
So why can’t the mind remember these astral travel activities on its own? Your mind doesn’t accept what it does not control. For example, when you travel to the astral plane, the mind may say “this is impossible” and when that happens, the mind won’t allow the memory to happen. The mind wants to be totally in control. Therefore, you will not recall the experience because the mind won’t accept it.
But the reason why dreams are often a memory of an astral travel experience is because the mind can allow dreams as an accepted reality, even if they don’t make sense. Your mind creates the reality in a way the mind can accept.
